Robert Libby Obituary
STANDISH -- Robert Scott Libby, 32, of Bliss Road, died on March 21, 2010, at the Maine Medical Center in Portland due to injuries from an automobile accident in Standish.
He was born in Portland on April 14, 1977, the son of Nancy J. Libby and 'Bill' Blake. He attended local schools and Bonny Eagle High School. He worked for many years as a mechanic at Standish Mobil for George Warren. For the past three years, he was working as a master mechanic at Gorham Auto Care.
He enjoyed many outdoor activities including hunting and tournament bass fishing, but his passion was being a professional radio controlled (RC) helicopter pilot. His license plate read 'X-Heli.'
He was predeceased by his grandfather, Sherwood Libby, who he always considered his Dad. Surviving are his mother, Nancy (Libby) Lavin and her husband Kenneth of Wells; his grandmother, Lorraine Libby of Limington; his daughter, Tiffany Libby of Sebago Lake; his sister, Michelle Zadrozny and husband Adam of Connecticut; his loving companion Christi Parker of East Waterboro; and his godmother, Mona Braley of Limington. He is also survived by his uncles Gary, Jeff and Uncle Bob who he looked to for advice, companionship and as cohorts in his many adventures. He is further survived by many other loving uncles, aunts and cousins and by many, many friends.
Visiting hours will be Friday, March 26, from 6 to 9 p.m., at the Watson, Neal & York Funeral Home, 71 Maple St., Cornish. A funeral service will on Saturday, March 27, at 1 p.m., at the Living Waters Christian Church at the intersections of Routes 22 and 112 in Buxton.

A Scholarship was established in 2010, by us, with Bonny Eagle High School, which Bob attended. In 2011 the 2nd scholarship was given, from the "Lavin Family Scholarship in Memory of Robert Scott Libby". Each Year we will continue to give this $500 scholarship at graduation, to a Mechanical Student with financial need, who will be continuing his education. Our son loved to teach others and he always was trying to learn something new. We and Bobby's fiancee Bree thank all. My son would be amazed at all the warmth from all of you. - and as he would say "catch ya later" -

I found this memorial after looking at a MA Funfly I will be attending this September. As I read each message my eyes tear from how much Bob was loved for helping others with his talents. As a RC Pilot myself I hope to accomplish what Bob was aiming for. My thoughs and prayers are with the Libby Family. God Bless

Never a day passes that my heart does not break, my tears flow, my spirit dies with you, my blue eyed son. Each night I start with cold terror at just after 10 pm, re-living the nightmare over and over without end. Dear Sweet Bob, today would have been your 33rd Birthday. You were a beautiful baby boy with bright blue eyes and a quick smile and you grew up to be such a handsome man with that twinkle in your eye and that smile that could light up the world. Too young you have gone from us! I pray that on this day, you are flying high with Dad, 'cause we sure miss you down here! Bob came into our lives through our daughter Bree just this past December, and in 3 short months we came to love him. His quick smile and easy going nature will stay with us forever. And even though he lives on in Spirit, no words can adequately express how much we will miss him. We love you Bob.

Bob was a wonderful and brilliant man. He had a talent for taking anything that seemed impossible to fix and have it back to almost new before you could blink. He had a huge passion for flying RC Helicopters and his dream was to become Pro this year. He was well on his way to realizing his dream. I have many memories of him trying to teach me to fly and it wasn't always very pretty. :) He also taught me alot about bass fishing, hunting, music, history and more.

I knew Bobby and Michelle as little children. As siblings do, he tantalized Michelle into a frenzy every time. He was very cute, pursuasive and quite charming. He will be sadly missed by myself and my daughter. Our hearts go out to Nancy, Michelle and the family...

I was set up next to Bob at last years funfly at Crow Island , Stow MA.
A super good guy and a great heli pilot. He put up with me and my noob heli questions all day. I still watch the video of him flying on my mp3/video player. He got to witness my 1st flip with my T-Rex 600 and almost crash trying to land so fast because my thumbs were shaking so much. I think he got a kick out of it. Very sad to loose a young guy like Bob. I think Bob would like it to know that someone is walking around with a video of him flying on thier IPOD because they thought it was so cool . Bob will be missed but not forgotten.

I had the pleasure of meeting Bob a few years back when I joined the RC club. He was always upbeat and ready to lend a helping hand. He was one of the nicest guys you could ever meet and an amazing Heli pilot. He will truely be missed by all who knew him. My deepest sympathies go out to his family.

I got to know Bob through the last 3 years as I flew with him 6-7 times each year. He was an exceptional pilot and one of the nicest guys you could meet. I am sorry for your loss. He will be missed by many.

Goodbye, Bob. I will forever remember you. You were a good person. And had a huge heart. We all will miss you. I will miss you. I truely enjoyed the times we spent together. Bobby always took care of our family's vehicles. We are so very sorry to hear about his passing. We will surely miss Bobby for the great person and friend that he was.

I have known Bob since I have moved to Maine about 7 years ago and he has always been one of my good friends and rc helicopter flying buddy. He was the best at anything he ever tried or did and I always admired that. I will always think about him. I am truely sorry for your loss.

Lance and I are at a lost for words.. still in shock can't believe you are gone ! Bob was a amazing guy. Always had great humor, laughing ,joking and smiling. He was always the life of the party. Lance was just expressing how him and bob were 15 -16 yr old when used to go atv around town. I met Bob thur Lance. I had the pleasure of living him,lance and Mark . Bob , we shared some great times especially on the river. We all know just how much you loved the river ! You will be missed more than you will ever know ! I grew up down the road from Bobby.He was a true friend and I knew him to be a very respectful and caring person.I fisrt meet Bobby in forth grade and to him I was cool cause I could play kickball..Something most girls didn't do.I later dated him for two years and he was my first boyfrind and dance partner.I will miss him dearly and I'm so sorry I couldn't reconnect with him in the past few years I've been back.I am so sorry for your loss.

Bob was a good friend of our son Joshua and the best mechanic working on our vehicles over the years. We are so very sorry to hear of your tremendous loss. The pain, sorrow, emptieness and sadness you are feeling is beyond words. We wish we could lighten your load or make it go away! It will be 10 years this May that Joshua went home to be with the Lord, and I have to say I miss him everyday but know one day I will see his smile again. Lossing someone we love is difficult to say the least. The minutes, hours, and days move so very slow. Nancy and Bill we know your pain first hand and extend to you both our prayers and love. Please don't hesitate to call if we can just be someone in the gap for you.
