Sally Flynn Obituary
Sally worked alongside Richard in the family businesses, Larry Rowe Golf Course and Flynn Hardware. Sally and Richard lived in the Thornton Heights Neighborhood their entire life before retirement and spent the next 25 years in Groveland, Fla. and many summers at Stanley Pond in Porter, Maine. Sally was a communicant of the former St. John the Evangelist church.
Many will remember Sally as a good friend to many, always willing to listen and if needed offer some advice.
Sally was predeceased by her husband of 59 years Richard Thomas Flynn; son, Peter John Flynn; brothers, Arnold and Francis and sisters Pauline, Barbara, Mona, Olive and Jacqueline.
Sally is survived by daughter, Linda Flynn and partner Robert Brown of Scarborough; son, Jeffrey Flynn and wife Jane of Quechee, Vermont; grandchildren, Mellissa Lathrop and husband William, Andrew Nixon and wife Meredith, Patrick Nixon, Joseph Flynn, Audrey Richardson and husband Reid, Tess Flynn and Dylan Flynn; and 10 well behaved great-grandchildren. Sally also leaves her sister in law Mary Flynn.
The family would like to thank the staff at the South Portland Nursing home for the thoughtful care they gave Sally.
Visiting Hours celebrating Sally's life will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 5 from 3 - 6 p.m. at the Conroy-Tully Walker South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home on Thursday, Dec. 6 at 9:15 a.m. followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Cross Church, 124 Cottage Rd, South Portland. I had the pleasure of getting to know Sally during my frequent visits to South Portland Nursing Home. She was a truly lovely, vibrant woman, who always had a kind word, or an interesting life story. Sending heartfelt condolences to Joe and Jane, Linda, Joe and their Families.

Our mother, Georgette, and Sally were roommates at the SouthPortland Nursing Home for over a year. Sally had become part of our family as well. Such a joy every time we visited mom to also visit Sally. Always a good story and a glass of wine at 4. We have lost our Georgette and you have lost your Sally. We share in your loss. Two sweet women who have spent time with us and each other on this Earth. We miss them greatly.
