Sylvia (Nerlinger) Finkelstein, 90
PORTLAND, WEST HARTFORD & MANCHESTER, Conn. -- Sylvia (Nerlinger) Finkelstein, 90, of West Hartford, Conn., formerly of Portland and Manchester, Conn., died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010. She was the widow of Louis Finkelstein.
Born in New York, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Freida (Dupler) Nerlinger. She was retired from Maine Medical Center in Portland. She was a member of Hadassah.
She leaves her son, David Finkelstein and his wife Paula of Vernon; two grandchildren, Debra Calliva of Manchester, Conn., and Dr. Cheryl Shevy and her husband Mark of Marquette, Mich.; and three great-grandchildren, Joshua, Noah and Elijah Shevy.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the Hebrew Home & Hospital as well as the Hospice at the Hebrew Home especially her hospice nurse, Jo-Ann Adami and her nurse friend, Louise Leito.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Feb. 22, 2010, at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford, Conn. To sign the guestbook for Mrs. Finkelstein, please visit online at www.weinsteinmortuary.com.
