Karen & Greg,
Your dad was my first cousin.
Because of our numerous family members we lost touch over the years.
When we were younger we would occasionally meet with uncle Edwin & Aunt Emeline. They would mention Paul and the wonderful girl he had married.
Our thoughts heve been with your family throughout the years. On the morning when it was announced that your dad's remains had been found, we had just come back from Pearl Harbor and uttered a prayer for your dad. A few hours later , the phone rang, it was our daughter informing us of the sad news.
I only met your mom once, at your dad's service. I wish I could have gotten to know her better
She sounded like such a wonderful person.
May she rest in peace and may God bless you and your families.

Karen & Greg,
My condolences on the passing of your Mom. I always loved listening to your Mom, on Christmas Eve. Held her in highest respect, to her tireless effort, for closure with your Dad. Everytime I would see the black P.O.W. /M.I.A flag somewhere, I would think of you folks and prayed the day would come, that finally did.
She may now rest in full peace. God bless you folks.

Dear Greg and Karen: Please accept my condolences. I recall your mother's great friendship during our high school years. I went to Sacred Heart and Cheverus with your father and was living in Southeast Asia when he was shot down. The many times that I flew over Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam
I would look down through the darkness of the night hoping that Paul was alive and I would say a prayer for him. You were blessed with two very special people as your parents and I will pray for them daily which is a promise I never break. Those many years ago it was thought by many that Teresa was , perhaps, the best basketball player in the Coyne family but please don't tell your Uncles Dudley and Willie.
Sincerely
Judy LaChance

John, Karen and Greg, I am so sorry for your loss. Teresa and I had many conversations and laughs during the many years I had helped her with the cleaning of her home. She was a wonderful lady.

I just saw Teresa's obituary. Teresa and John were wonderful neighbors to me in Portland for many years.
Greg and Karen, your mother (and uncle) were so good to me (it was my first house and I didn't know what I'd gotten into). I'm so sorry to hear about Teresa.

As a kid growing up in Portland, I wore her husband Lt. Col.Paul Getchell,M.I.A. bracelet. I did't personally know the family but I often thought of them throughout my life and wondered what became of his loved ones. My wish was for them to find peace and joy.
I hope the Getchell children can find comfort knowing their parents were stella examples of bravery, courage and honor. I wish them peace.

Greg, Karen and Uncle John
You are in my thoughts and prayers. I've known all of you since about 1981 (31 years). Mother will be missed greatly.
Just seems like yesterday Greg and I were having tea in the kitchen with her while we joked around. Uncle John would come in from the yard carrying Rosie or Ginger with a big smile on his face... Those days will NEVER be forgotten…

She was a wonderful person from my memories of visiting the Getchell house back in the late 80's. I'm sure her husband will be happy to have her back in his arms while they look upon their wonderful family together. Thoughts are with all of you at this time of grief.

To Terry's family...i remember her when she attended Cathedral School and i remember the many times i met her at church after Paul was missing, my heart went out to her for the suffering she must have endured, a brave and courageous lady who turned her sorrow around to benefit others. The world is a better place because she was in it.
