Thomas Mandeville Obituary

Thomas D. Mandeville, 71 PORTLAND - Thomas D. Mandeville, 71, of Standish passed away suddenly Wednesday Feb. 25, 2009 at his home. He was born Sept. 4, 1937 in Brockton, Mass. and grew up in Randolph. He served in the United States Marine Corp from 1955 to 1958. He loved the Marine Corp and celebrated the Marine Corp birthday every year. He married his childhood sweetheart, Margaret Welch of Brighton, Mass., whom he leaves behind after almost 49 years of marriage. They resided in Manchester, Conn. where he worked for the United States Postal Service for 39 years. After retiring he and his wife moved to Standish. Beside his wife, he is survived by his four children, Lynda Albert and her husband Michael of Lebanon, Conn., Mark Mandeville of West Virginia, Scott Mandeville and his wife Shauna of Standish, and Lisa Mandeville Thomas D. Mandeville Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home & Cremation Service 775-3763 of Frederick, Md.; eight grand children; three great-grandchildren; five sisters, Dorothy Ayers of Randolph, Mass., Rita Branagan of Plainville, Mass., Margy Flaherty of Milton, Mass., Alice Kearns of Florida, and Brenda Mitchell of Whitman, Mass, a brother, Paul Mandeville of California. He is predeceased by two brothers, Charles Mandeville and Joseph Mandeville. We will miss him dearly, his beautiful blue eyes and warm smile. Visitation will be Tuesday March 3, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St. Portland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, 673 Stevens Ave. Portland. Interment with military honors will be in the spring.
