Wayne R. Clark, 77
KENNEBUNKPORT -- Wayne R. Clark, 77, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at his home in Kennebunkport in the care of his devoted family.
He was born in Molunkus on July 9, 1933, to the late Wilbert and Margaret (Lakeman) Clark. He graduated from Wells High School in 1952, where he played baseball, basketball and track and field. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955.
He enjoyed archery, hunting, and gardening. He was also a big sports fan and loved spoiling his many loyal canine companions.
Wayne was employed by Space Design Systems in Kennebunk until 1979. He also worked for many years at the Shawmut Inn and most recently at Patten's Farm in Kennebunkport, where you might find him in the garden, mowing, or telling tales.
A clever and creative man, Wayne was known for engaging others with his quick wit, sparkling eyes and easy grin.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jeanne Young Clark; two daughters, Deborah Davis and her fiance Bill Lefebvre of Alfred, and Jodi Cone and her husband Randy of Roanoke, Va.; two brothers, the Rev. Frederick Clark of North Berwick, the Rev. Peter McCarn of East Hampstead, N.H., a sister, Bunny Tower of Ogunquit; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; as well as a huge number of friends. He was predeceased by his son, Gregory Clark.
Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service on Saturday, May 21, 2011, at 2 p.m., preceded by an hour of visitation at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St., Kennebunk. Private interment will immediately follow the service at Arundel Cemetery in Kennebunkport. Arrangements are in care of Bibber Memorial Chapel. www.bibberfuneral.com.
