Daniel Hutchinson Obituary

Daniel Lovett Hutchinson, Jr. died on March 5, 2014 at the age of 46, in Norfolk, CT. Cherished husband, father, son and brother, he is lovingly remembered by his wife of 21 years, Olivia Helena Zanft Hutchinson, and five beloved children: William, Alexander, Charlotte, Victoria, and Madeleine. Mr. Hutchinson was the son of Daniel Lovett Hutchinson of Bryn Mawr, PA, and Margaret Parlin Hutchinson O'Malley of Burt Lake, MI, and the brother of Agnes Hutchinson Pruitt of North Wales, PA. Respected for his values and integrity, he considered his family his greatest accomplishment. Devoted father and husband, he was raised in Rosemont, PA, educated at the Haverford School and then at Harvard College, where he played varsity lacrosse and squash. He also received an MBA from Columbia Business School, where he was a member of the rugby team. Mr. Hutchinson served in the US Navy, being honorably discharged with the rank of Lieutenant. His career on Wall St., at various firms, was focused on the complex derivatives markets. Amember of the Racquet and Tennis and the Harvard Clubs in New York City, he loved spending time with friends, playing squash and court tennis, and always put the other fellow first. A memorial service will be held in Bryn Mawr, PA at The Church of the Redeemer, Pennswood and New Gulph Roads, at 4 o'clock in the afternoon on Thursday, April 10th. Stuard Funeral Home

What a terrible loss… I'm so sorry to hear the news. He was one of the kindest, funniest and smartest. An amazing person on all side, the best boss and mentor I've had. Dan, you'll be missed a lot.

Mr. Hutch... What a guy. I am so sorry to hear this news. I just learned of his passing today. Clearly a devoted father whose main focus was doing what was best for his children. I had the pleasure of coaching his son Alexander with the NYC Cyclones, and I can truly say his personality reflected the values his father instilled in him as well as his funny and caring personality. You will be missed, rest in peace.

Dan was a super guy. One of those guys that even the upperclassmen at Haverford looked up to.

Dan was very much liked by the Westchester Wild U16 girls travel hockey team in Westchester, NY. His daughter Charlotte played with my daughter Madison and was a big presence for us. He always had a kind word and a smile on his face. I truly enjoyed seeing him around the rink. He will be missed by our family.
Sending our condolences,
