Gabrielle Cerminaro, On Sunday morning August 14th we received the worst possible news any parent could receive. Our dear daughter and sister, Gabrielle Cerminaro, was unconscious due to cardiac arrest upon returning from church. While we performed CPR and received the most unbelievable care from the Berwyn Fire Department and at the Paoli Memorial Hospital, she went home to be with the Lord on Thursday August 18th, 2011. Her contagious smile and laugh, the twinkle in her eyes, her warm hugs, her sharp intellect, her creativity and artistry, her fashion sense, her love of people, animals and most especially, children will live on in our memories. Gabrielle was someone that did not settle and pursued truth, justice and love for all! She truly wanted to know that she made a difference. Well we can say with certainty that she has made a huge difference....not just for our immediate family and friends, but her spirit will continue to soar! We are quite confident she is smiling down from heaven with love and contentment knowing that her life has meaning and purpose. She has touched so many that it is too hard to fathom. Gabrielle was an organ donor (please consider today doing the same). Because of her generosity 7 or more people were directly affected with a better quality of life or life itself through the gifting of her organs. In fact the most exciting news was that a 13 year old boy within days of dying received her liver and is now full of life. She is the cherished daughter of Wendy Wolfinger Coleman(Tom) and Samuel P. Cerminaro Jr. She is also survived by her loving sister, Samantha; step brothers, Jeff and Dan Coleman; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert B. Wolfinger(Elaine) and Mr. and Mrs. Samuel P. Cerminaro(Doris); step grandmother, Jane Coleman; great grandmother, Florence Wise; and many dear aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A Celebration of Gabrielle's life will be held on Wed. Aug. 24th, 11am in the Chapel of St. David's Episcopal Church, 763 South Valley Forge Rd., Wayne, PA 19087. Burial will follow in the Churchyard. In lieu of flowers we have set up the Gabrielle S. Cerminaro Art Scholarship Foundation c/o The Haverford Trust Co. 3 Radnor Corp. Center Suite 450 Radnor, PA 19087 Attn: Eileen Chambers. These funds will go to help children in need to enjoy the creativity and therapy of art to express their innermost dreams, passions and struggles. What better way to remember Gabrielle than to give back to those in need. That is exactly the kind of person Gabrielle was all the time- always thinking of others before herself.
