John H. Kerr

John H. Kerr, M.D. died peacefully March 25, 2021 at home in Malvern, PA. He was 90 years old. John, a well-known respected physician, had a private Internal Medicine practice in Wayne, PA and was affiliated with The Bryn Mawr Hospital for over 35 years prior to his retirement in 2001. Often referred to as “Kindly Dr. John” by his many friends, John treated everyone he met with compassion, integrity and a positive attitude. Born in East Orange, NJ, he and his family moved to Wyncote, PA when John was a teen. Following his graduation from Lehigh University in 1952, John served in the U. S. Army for two years, after which he attended medical school at Hahnemann Medical College in Philadelphia. While in Med School he met and married the love of his life, Mims (Lawley). After a residency at The Graduate Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania John joined the staff at Bryn Mawr Hospital. He was on the Board of Surrey Services, a member of the Radnor Fire Company, a volunteer at CVIM and an active member of St. David’s Episcopal Church in Radnor. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, John (Jayme) and Jim (Allison), as well as five grandchildren, David, Ian, Matt, Kendall, Sarah and a sister Elizabeth Orlemann. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers the family asks that friends honor John’s life with a random act of kindness for someone in need.
