Theodore S. Morgan

1931 - 2023

Theodore "Ted" S. Morgan found his way back to his beloved wife, Helen, at sunrise on February 9th, 2023 at their cherished home with a view that is "Almost Heaven". A son of The Great Depression, Ted was never one to be deterred. Ted attended Lafayette College where he formed lifelong friends, met his wife and found many brothers at Theta Chi, graduating in 1953. He was an only child whose mother had died when he was 14 so the Brotherhood was very important to Ted. After the Marine Corps, Ted married Helen Powell from Abington in 1955; she predeceased him on August 16th, 2022. Ted and Helen were forever grateful with the life bestowed upon them from their hard work. Ted's career took him to Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, Chicago, California and back to Pennsylvania were Helen and he made their home for the next six decades. Ted, with a longtime business partner built, East Falls Chemicals into one of the largest chemical distributors in the Country. Ted's one requisite for employment at East Falls; a love of fly fishing. Ted travelled with friends, family and employees all over the World in search of that perfect virgin high mountain lake or "gin clear" stream. A river ran through his soul all his life and he passionately passed his knowledge to all of his children; Jeffrey, Leslie and Stacey and grandchildren Devin, Josie, Theodore (T.J.), Grady and Paige. From the Tetons to New Zealand to South America and to The Spruce Creek Club where in later years they had devised a special chair for him to continue the hunt of that elusive rainbow, brook or brown trout. The other passion Ted shared with all, was his love of the game of tennis. He came to it late in life but excelled quickly. From the little courts on Valley Forge Mountain to Aronimink, Curtain Bluff, Ocean City NJ, Vero Beach and his own court with a very unique view he loved to master the game of doubles. Generous to a fault Ted served in many leadership positions post retirement including Lancaster Seminary, Lafayette College and beyond. He was an avowed and unashamed Patriot who believed in his Community, County and Country first. Ted was beloved by all due to his quiet humble nature and unmatched wit. His favorite word was TERRIFIC and his favorite pastime was sitting on his deck with his wife Helen by his side enjoying one heck of a view. He will be deeply missed by all.
