Barbara Jean Dorey

1942 - 2025

Barbara Jean Dorey, age 83 of Malvern passed away Saturday, March 8, 2025 at her home.  She was born January 23, 1942 in Hempstead County, Arkansas.  She was an ordained minster with the Assemblies of God for fifty years.  She and her late husband, Rev. Paul Alton Dorey pastored four churches in Arkansas during their 60 years plus of ministry.  She is also preceded in death by parents, Harvey L. Buckley and Emma H. Warren Buckley; twin infant daughters, Amelia and Cecilia Dorey; one brother, Donnie Buckey, and one sister, Gladdine Buckley.  Barbara is survived by two daughters, Paula (Allen) Smith of Munford, TN, Pam Smith of Malvern; one sister, Jeanette (Marvin) Launius of Bearden; three grandchildren, Jason (Jennille) O'Dell of Drummonds, TN, Jared O'Dell of Memphis, Brittney (Alex) Dorey of Hot Springs; nine great grandchildren, Jason (Faith), Jeffrey, Jonathan, Peyton, Abdel, Justin, Julianna, Josiah, Jake; and three great-great grandchildren, Grace, Matthew and Alex.
Visitation will be Wednesday 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce.  Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Benton Funeral Home with Rev. Matt Crutchfield and Rev.
