Larry "Bo" Fite Obituary

Larry (Bo) Wayne Fite, a beloved educator and cherished member of the community, was born on November 20, 1943, in Malvern, Arkansas. He passed away peacefully in his home on April 27, 2025, in Royal, Arkansas, leaving behind a legacy that will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Larry (Bo) began his educational career as a coach at Harmony Grove, paving the way for a lifetime dedicated to nurturing young minds. His journey continued at Malvern Junior High, where he served as both a teacher and a guidance counselor. Larry's impact grew even further as he took on the role of Vice Principal at Camden Fairview School, Arkadelphia High School, and Jonesboro High School, where he inspired students and colleagues alike until his retirement in 2010. Known affectionately as Mr. Larry (Bo) Fite, he was beloved by all his students, earning their respect and admiration through his dedication to education and character-building.
A proud alumnus, Larry graduated from Malvern High School in 1961 and went on to obtain both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees at Henderson University. This academic foundation fueled his passion for teaching and mentoring, and his students will always remember him as a highly respected and dedicated figure in their lives.
His services extended beyond the classroom. He proudly served in the United States Navy in San Diego, California, where his commitment to teamwork and leadership began to flourish. He carried these values with him throughout his life, both in his professional endeavors and his personal pursuits. Larry was a committed Christian and Bible Scholar who was an avid hunter and fisherman, finding joy in the great outdoors. He also enjoyed the thrill of sports and had a particular fondness for Oaklawn Racetrack, which served as a frequent destination for his competitive spirit, Larry (Bo) was a AAA certified referee for softball, baseball, football, and basketball for over 30 years.
Larry (Bo) and Pam faithfully attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, where they fostered friendships within the congregation.
He leaves behind a loving family, including his wife of 30 years, Pamela Guyse-Fite, and their children, Scott Fite, Jennifer Fite, Chad Fite (Angie), Jillian Walters, and David Walters II (Veronica). Larry was immensely proud of his grandchildren who called him "Pawpa": Dominique, Shaley, Tucker, Hunter, Alex, Ashton, Ethan, Gabriel, Madi, Meriah, and Riley. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Hunter. A sister, Ann Daniel, brother, Mike Fite (Brenda) along with a host of other family and friends, will carry forward his memory.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Aline Fite, who nurtured his early love of learning and instilled in him the values of kindness and integrity that he carried throughout his life.
As we bid farewell to Bo Fite, we remember a man whose life was a testament to dedication, passion, and love. Those who had the privilege of knowing him are left with countless memories and the inspiration he provided to lead lives filled with purpose and joy. His spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of family, students, and friends.
