Raymond Lawrence Obituary

Raymond Earl Lawrence, 84 of Malvern, Arkansas, passed away on July 22, 2022 at CHI Hospice Unit in Hot Springs. Raymond was born July 26, 1938 to William and Iva Lawrence in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He was avid chess player and was a member of the U.S. Chess Federation and Malvern Chess Club, he also enjoyed trivia, and watching Jeopardy on TV, and above all spending time with his loving wife of 59 ½ years.
Raymond is preceded in death by his parents, son; Doug E. Lawrence, grandparents; William Madison (Matt) and Sarah Octavia Wright and Charles Edward and Monie Estes Lawrence, sister; Myrtle Evelyn.
Raymond is survived by his wife; Betty Jean Lawrence, brothers; Homer Lawrence (Mary Evelyn), Harold Lawrence (Nell), daughter-in-law; Lisa A. Lawrence, grandchildren; Amanda and Dustin (Nichole) Lawrence, great granddaughter; Blakely Kate Lawrence, and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel. Services will take place on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at 10:00 AM at the Atkinson Chapel with internment following at Magnet Cove Cemetery, Hank Smith and Greg Reed overseeing services.
