Rodney Edwards Obituary

Rodney Edwards, born on October 12, 1958, in Lockney, Texas, passed away on August 5, 2025, in Malvern, Arkansas. He lived a life rich in service, love, and community, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Rodney dedicated his professional life to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, where he served as a Correctional Officer, demonstrating a commitment to upholding the law and contributing to public safety. Additionally, he was the proud owner of Texas Dinner Bell Catering, where his love for cooking flourished. Rodney's culinary skills brought joy to many, showcasing not only his passion for food but also his ability to bring people together through shared meals and celebrations.
His interests included cooking, fishing, and watching rodeos on television. Rodney is known for award-winning barbecue cook-offs. These hobbies reflected his love for the outdoors and his enjoyment of good food and community gatherings.
Rodney's faith was an important part of his life. At the age of 63, he embraced Christ and became a devoted member of Calvary Cross Cowboy Church. His commitment to his faith was evident in his relationships with both his family and church community, with whom he shared genuine love and support.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Lisa Edwards, and his sons, Rowdee Edwards (Erin), Lane Roberts, and Dane Roberts. He is also survived by his sisters, Kristi Isom (Jeff) and family, and Lori Rowley (Chuck) and family; his brothers, Darrel Edwards (Cheryl) and family, Bart Bice (Alicia) and family, Loyd Autry (Gina)-Bo, Max Bice and family; and one special niece, Shea Brown. A proud pop, Rodney is survived by ten grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rodney Edwards was predeceased by his parents, Kenneth and Bonnie Edwards, and his beloved nephew, Josh Isom. His legacy of love, service, and culinary genius will live on in the hearts and memories of those he touched during his remarkable journey.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Calvary's Cross Cowboy Church.
