Michele DeSantis Obituary

Michele deSantis, 85, of Lancaster, formerly of Winhall, VT, died peacefully Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at Hospice & Community Care in Mount Joy. Born in Brooklyn, NY he was the son of the late Michele and Mathilda (Rooss) deSantis. He was the loving husband of Margaret (Fitzgerald) deSantis to whom he was married for over 58 years. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Villanova University and received his Doctorate from St. Louis University School of Dentistry. Dr. deSantis practiced dentistry for over 50 years, retiring in 2007. Dr. deSantis proudly served in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Thule, Greenland, and Plattsburg, NY. He was also an avid outdoorsman and an exceptional photographer. In addition to his loving wife, Margaret, he is survived by his three children: Stephanie Pelletier (Michael) of Bridgeport, CT; Michelle Bentley (Glen M.) of Lancaster, PA; Michael E. deSantis (Paige) of Framingham, MA; three grandchildren, Ian A. Bentley, Sydney E. deSantis, Cooper F. deSantis. Also surviving is a sister, Margaret Read (Daniel) of Warwick, RI, and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his sister, Eugenia V. deSantis. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dr. deSantis's memory may be made to Hospice & Community Care, 685 Good Dr., P.O.
