1946 - 2022

Roberta D. "Roby" Read, 75, a resident of Dufresne Pond Road, passed away September 23, 2022 at Albany Medical Center. Roby was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts on November 16, 1946 the daughter of the late James and Carmella Milone Diodati and attended local schools, graduating from Lawrence High School. Roby worked as a bookkeeper for many area businesses including Slide Supply Company and the Wilson House for many years. Roby was a member and very active in the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Manchester and the Kiwanis Club. She loved her dog Ruby, enjoyed walking, visiting with family and friends, reading, watching sports and following the Patriots, New York Football Giants and NASCAR especially Bill Elliot and Chase Elliot. She also enjoyed listening to classic country music. Roby is survived by her husband Walter Read of Manchester, her children Michael Read and his partner Linda Lynch of Manchester, Christopher Read of Seattle, Washington and David Read of Falls Church, Virginia, her daughter-in-law Valerie Read of Rutland, VT, sisters Elena Williams (Russ) of Dover, NH and Doreen McAlarney (Stephen) of Marshfield, Massachusetts and nieces, nephews and cousins. At the request of the family there are no formal funeral services at this time.
