Douglas Allen VanSickle Sr., age 68, of Free Soil, Michigan passed away on Monday November 15, 2021, surrounded by his loved ones.
Doug was born on May 14, 1953, in Fremont, Michigan, the son of the late Stanley and Nellie (Overly) VanSickle. He graduated from Manistee High School.
Doug retired from the Manistee County Courthouse after working there for 25 years.
He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors hunting, fishing and camping. Above all else, Doug loved spending his time with his family and his friends. He especially loved being with his grandchildren.
Doug will be missed by his children Dori (Scott) Tetzlaff, Dougie (Megan) VanSickle, and Jamie (David) Lijewski; his grandchildren Ryley, Chelsey, Ethan, Caden, Addison, Jayden, Spencer, and Sophia; his siblings Stanley VanSickle, Noreen Hirsch, Don DeWispelaere, and Marty Overkamp; as well as many other family and friends.
Besides for his parents, Doug is preceded in death by his wife Esther VanSickle and his grandson Devin Tetzlaff.
No services will be held during this time.

Doug was a great friend. I will miss our phone conversations. (and he could talk a lot) He always mentioned his family and how much they meant to him. He had a great sense of humor that I will miss. So sorry for the loss of a great man.

You have my deepest thoughts, prayers and sympathy at this time. Doug and I was classmates together at Brethren High School. He will be missed by many. He was A very vice person to know.
