Loren S. Humes, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025, in Wyoming, MI, at the age of 55.
Born on March 20, 1970, in Manistee, MI, he was the son of Robert and Marlene (Churchill) Humes. A proud graduate of Bear Lake High School's class of 1988, Loren went on to further his education at Davenport University, where he graduated in 1992.
He dedicated a decade of his professional life to M & K Truck Centers in the collections department, where his work ethic and collaborative spirit were greatly valued by his colleagues. Loren's commitment to his community was evident through his active membership at Peace Church. He took great joy in serving others as part of the church hospitality team. His passions were many and varied, including frequent visits to the lake, exploring new destinations through travel, and taking leisurely walks with his beloved wife, Lisa. He was an avid reader of sci-fi and comic books, and his love for his cats was well-known among friends and family.
Loren's memory will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 31 years, Lisa (Steinberg) Humes; his daughters, Rachel and Nicole; his mother, Marlene; his brothers, Corey, Robert II (Kimberly), and Rodney; his nieces, Brittany and Julia; his nephew, Nolan; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Humes.
Loren's family will receive friends on Thursday, May 15, 2025 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Peace Church and again on Friday, May 16, 2025 from 10 to 11 a.m. A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m., with Pastor Mitchell Leach officiating. I loved when Loren would come over to the house to hang out with Aaron and just visit with us. I'm so sorry that he's gone. He was one of the nicest kids I ever knew.
