Margo Plamondon Obituary

Margo Sue Plamondon
Manistee, Michigan
12/24/1946 - 10/25/2025
Margo Sue Plamondon of Manistee, Michigan entered the eternal kingdom of Christ on October 25th, 2025, at the age of 78. Margo was born in Manistee on December 24th, 1946, daughter of Carl and Dorothy (Domres) Numelin. She was a graduate of Manistee High School, class of 1964. She married Luke E. Plamondon on September 5th, 1964, at St. Mary of Mount Carmel Shrine Church in Manistee. She was best known for her career in real estate in Manistee. She also worked as a travel agent and later worked at Prevo's after she and Luke moved back to Manistee from Fennville.
Margo enjoyed an abundance of social events with friends and family, including hosting family holidays, attending countless sports games and music performances of her grandchildren, taking part in her favorite card club, and having numerous lunches with friends. Margo made a profound impact as a volunteer for the Lighthouse Pregnancy Care Center. Her heart was set on helping mothers, babies, and children facing hardship, and her influence undoubtedly touched many lives.
The congregation at Trinity Lutheran Church felt like a second family to Margo. She was a woman of unwavering faith and spent years as a member of Trinity's fundraising committee, audio/visual committee, Endowment Board, and previously served on the Board of Christian Education. She took her role as coffee hour host very seriously and loved planning, making, and sharing her homemade treats after church. Margo was a beacon of kindness and joy, always putting others first with a heart full of care, and will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her two daughters & sons-in-law: Lora & Robert (Tony) Laurain of Manistee and Caroline & Michael Simaz of Grawn, six grandchildren: Maria Warren (Andrew) of Chicago, Daniel Simaz of Chicago, Andrew Simaz (Katie) of Madison, WI, Rachel Laurain (Ivan Garma) of Interlochen, Robby Laurain of Manistee and Haley Laurain (Oscar Hammontree) of Bozeman, MT, four great-grandchildren: Sofia Garma, Oscar Hammontree-Laurain, Freya Hammontree-Laurain, and Harlow Hammontree Laurain, her three sisters-in-law & two brothers-in-law: Yvonne & Keith Lindeman of Manistee and Douglas & Deborah Plamondon of Grand Haven, and Dianne Numelin of Minneapolis, MN. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.
She was predeceased by her mother and father, Carl & Dorothy Numelin, her husband: Luke E. Plamondon, her brothers: Tom Numelin and Dale Numelin, her brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Jeff & Mary Plamondon, her granddaughters: Allison Laurain and Sara Laurain.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 8th, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Manistee at 11:00am with Reverend Dennis D. Rahn officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Manistee. A luncheon for family and friends will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church following the burial.
The family will be at the Herbert Funeral Home on Friday, November 7th from 4:00pm – 6:00pm to receive friends and family. The family will also be at church on Saturday morning one hour prior to the funeral service.
Memorials may be made in her honor to Trinity Lutheran Church, 420 Oak St, or Lighthouse Pregnancy Care Center, 215 Maple St.
The Herbert Funeral Home of Manistee is in charge of funeral arrangements.

The world has lost a real treasure. Margo has always been a calm, steady, kind, responsible lady, from her high school years, through her professional life, and in her ties to family and community. She will be warmly remembered and greatly missed by all of us who have been privileged to know her.

Margo was our landlord back in 1983 when Linda and I first moved to Manistee. She was an exceptionally nice person. We considered ourselves lucky to have her as a landlord. May she rest in peace.
