Marilyn "Micki" Jayne Fredericks, 94, of Brethren, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 25, 2025, while at home with her daughter Pam and grandson Rich by her side.
She was born September 3, 1930, the daughter of Walter and Celia (McNamara) Wendt in Detroit, MI.
She married Richard Fredericks on November 18, 1950, at Trinity Lutheran Church of Onekama.
She is survived by: her daughter, Pamela Monroe of Kaleva; her grandchildren, Rich (girlfriend Vanessa Alfredo) Lagerquist of Jenison, Emily (Joe) Wilson of Lake Leelanau, Jessica (Josh) Hoffman of Thompsonville and Matthew (Leslie) Monroe of Mt Pleasant; her great-grandchildren, Morgan Lagerquist of Plainwell, Oliver Wilson of Lake Leelanau, Gwendolyn Hoffman of Thompsonville, Benjamin Monroe, Hannah Monroe, McKenzie Monroe, Noelle Monroe all of Mt Pleasant; her sisters-in-law, Audrey Glover of Portage and Louise Fredricks of Mt Pleasant; and many nieces and nephews.
Micki was preceded in death by: her husband, Richard Fredericks; her son, Richard (Ricky) Fredericks; her sister, Gloria Wulotz and brother-in-law Warren Wulotz; her sisters-in-law, Marie Kurth, Kathryn Pihl, Lola Brown, Leona Wagoner and Jeanie Kaskinen; her brothers-in-law, Harold Fredricks, Otto Robert (Bob) Fredricks, Ray Fredricks, Norman Fredricks and John Fredricks; her parents, Celia and Walter Wendt; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Daisy and Otto Fredricks.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Onekama. She was a Sunday school teacher and member of the Ladies Aid later called SWAT (Sunshine Workers at Trinity). Micki was an avid reader. She had hundreds of books in her library where she enjoyed her coffee and reading. She enjoyed gardening and canning many foods. She served on the first committee to plan Brethren Days (1969). Her many jobs were working at Jebavy, Sorensons canning factory and Post Mistress in Brethren. She and her husband Rich bought the Gulf gas station and greenhouse in Brethren. There were three cabins included where she had boarders in home as well as feeding and boarding deer hunters. In her spare time, she did wedding bouquets for the bride, bridesmaids, groom and groomsmen. Along with prom which was a big event. She was remarkable and will be dearly missed.
Per her wishes, no funeral will be held and a private committal service will be held at the Brethren Cemetery at a later date.
Those wishing to remember Mikki can give donations to Trinity Lutheran Church, Saint Judes Children's Research or Hospice of Michigan NW100 Ludington Team.
The Terwilliger Funeral Home, in Kaleva, is in charge of arrangements.
