Suzanne Burden Obituary

Suzanne Burden
Cocoa Florida
April 21, 2025
In Loving Memory of Suzanne "Sue" Burden.
September 15, 1948 April 21, 2025.
Suzanne "Sue" Burden, our beloved Dancing Queen, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2025, in Cape Canaveral, Florida. Born in Frankfort, Michigan, Sue grew up in Manistee and Bear Lake, where her joyful and generous spirit was shaped.
Sue made Florida her home, lighting up Cocoa, Titusville, Kissimmee, and Clermont with her love of life, her sparkly style, and her unforgettable dance moves. She was known as "the dancing lady," spreading joy wherever she went whether line dancing with Cathy's Dancing Angels or dazzling events like the Indian River Festival.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Chief Petty Officer Gary D. "Pee Wee" Burden; her cherished son John P. Burden; her parents Earl K. Overla and Waneta Pearl (Dorn) Overla; and her dear brothers Russell K. Overla, Gary J. Overla, and Jim Faubert.
Sue is survived by her children Richard Prowdley (Billie), Donna Rosky (William), and Diane Gawrys (Brian); 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and many beloved siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She is also survived by her treasured siblings: Wayne Overla (Sally), Patricia Faubert, LaRaine Duchon (Larry), Nancy Overla (Evert), Jimmie Overla (Cindy), Kenneth Overla (Connie), Joni Markiewicz, Shari Groenwald (Bryan), and Debra Overla as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and loved ones who made her feel like her own.
A breast and lung cancer survivor and proud member of the Red Hat Society, VFW, and American Legion Post 359, Sue lived life boldly. She co-founded Ms. Cleaning Service and proudly worked on the Tomahawk program with McDonnell Douglas.
Sue danced through life with courage, warmth, and laughter. Her light will forever shine.
