The world needs more people to be like my Uncle Doyal Sears.

As I grew up watching him, he always seemed to have it together, no matter what!

Like a duck, he knew if water got on his back it would roll right off.
Afterwards just like with everything he did, he would simply sit down, cross his legs, and seemed satisfied things were right in his world.

Along with a hand full of others, in my lifetime we did not have to talk to communicate. For us, silence was golden.

There were no conclusions made, no judgments called, no assumptions assumed, no corrections needed, no arguments, no disagreements, no criticisms, no doubt, no gossip, no talk behind the back, and we had no misunderstandings.

It's people like Doyal Sears that make families; and I, love and miss their families even more.

Some of the best memories from my college years were spent with my dad and Doyal at Venison Run. Instead of heading to the beaches of Florida for spring break, Doyal let some of my buddies and me spend the week at his cabin in West Virginia with him, my dad and their buddies. Those memories are priceless; Im glad I have them. He was a good man and will be missed.
