Ladene Warbel Obituary

Ladene F. "Bobbie" Warbel

LOUDONVILLE: Ladene F. "Bobbie" Warbel, 93, of Loudonville died Friday afternoon, Dec. 16, 2016 in Colonial Manor Health Care Center, Loudonville. She was born March 7, 1923 in Pike County, Mississippi and was the daughter of the late Perrie and Era Mae (Alexander) Roberts. During WWII Bobbie joined the Womens Army Corps (WAC) where she proudly served as a medical technician. On April 8, 1948 while stationed at Ft. Dix, NJ she met and married Mike Warbel and they enjoyed 55 years of marriage before his death on Dec. 3, 2003. Following a stint in Frankfurt, Germany, she and Mike settled in Amsterdam, OH where they raised their four sons. Bobbie worked 28 years as a Postal Clerk in the Amsterdam Post Office before moving to Loudonville in 1983. She served as homemaker and wonderful mom and was an exceptional cook. Bobbie was a voracious reader well into her eighties and was an active member of the Loudonville United Methodist Church. She loved to spend as much time as possible doting over her grandchildren, of whom she was most proud.

Bobbie is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law: Michael and Sally Warbel of Loudonville, Andy and Patti Warbel of Richmond, VA, and Jim and Donna Warbel of Delaware; eight grandchildren: Mike, Max, Mary, Lee, Joe, Ashlee, Nick, and Amy; numerous great-grandchildren; one brother, Tommy Roberts of Mississippi; and one sister: Cybil Ashley of Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son: Barry Warbel, three brothers: Perry, Frank, and Cecil Roberts; and three sisters: Laverne Dunaway White, Delores Mott, Lorraine O'Quinn.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Dec. 19 at 11:00 AM in LINDSEY FUNERAL HOME, LOUDONVILLE with Rev. Tom Snyder officiating. Burial with military honors conducted by the American Legion and VFW will be held in Loudonville Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 10-11:00 in the funeral home. Dear Mike, Andy, Jim and family,
I was so sorry to hear of the passing of our dear Aunt Bobbie. She was a sweetie and will always be held dear in my heart. The family gettogethers were always a lot of fun as we all shared good food and good laughs. She and Uncle Mike were the perfect couple and an integral part of the Warbel family from which we all were given our strong foundations. Thinking of you and all the wonderful memories you all must have.
