Michael Merchant Obituary
Mansfield - Michael D. Merchant, 51, of Perrysville, Ohio passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Crystal Care of Ashland. He was born in Mansfield on March 4, 1969 to Jack and Patricia (Milligan) Merchant.
Michael was a 1987 graduate of Lucas High School. He played softball for many years at Cyclops and Wayside Ballpark. Michael was a bartender at VFW Post #9943 and worked many years at the Wayside Inn. He was a member of the Mansfield Moose Lodge. Michael enjoyed golfing in a league every summer at Pleasant Hill Golf Course.
Michael is survived by his mother, Patricia Merchant; brother, Mark Merchant; nephew, Robert Merchant; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Merchant.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 South Diamond Street, Mansfield. A service will be held at the funeral home beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 25, 2021 with visitation one hour prior. He will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Already posted this once so sorry if shows up twice. Mike or Mikey to me was another brother. We grew up together playing cops and robbers and cowboys and indians against Greg and Mark. Somehow we always lost but we still made a great team.
To snow forts and sledding down the big bill by his house. To Pleasant Hill beach trips (hot gog's) or playing in the "haunted house" we were not suppose to go in. Let's not forget the trap shoot or Big Chuck and Hoolihan.
Then as we got older we still had the bus (yuck) and shooting darts with our families. It was a great childhood! To the good times! I will miss you. Love Kim Snively (Gentile )

Mike was such a sweet & kind guy. We so enjoyed talking to him at the VFW. He was a quiet guy but always had a smile. He will be missed
