Ruby Jacobs Obituary

MANSFIELD - Ruby M. Jacobs, 91, died late Thursday evening, March 26, 2009, at Lexington Court Care Center. Born February 28, 1918, in Burbank, Ohio, she was the daughter of Ramsey and Delpha (Buffmyer) Buchanan. After the death of Ruby's father, she and her siblings were placed in the Wooster County Children's Home where she was taken in by Clem and Minnie Oller.
Ruby received her L.P.N. license on March 1, 1958, and was formerly employed with Richland Hospital. She was a charter member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church and former member of the L.P.N. Association. Ruby enjoyed fishing, traveling, arts and crafts, especially crocheting. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by a daughter, Diana Dunham of Bellville; son, Lawrence A. (Diane) Jacobs, Jr. of Mount Gilead; grandchildren, Robert Dunham of Anchorage, AK, Debbie Crunkilton of Butler, Sally Dye of Loudonville, Daniel Dunham of Bellville, Michael Dunham of Loudonville, Felicia Minkey of Baltimore, MD and Amy Jacobs of Columbus; seventeen great-grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Nancy Irving of Millersburg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence A. Jacobs, whom she married October 1, 1938; great grandson, Robert Dunham, Jr.; two daughters-in-law, Anita Jacobs and Kimberly Jacobs; parents; four sisters, Irene Ulher, Opal Sauch, Blanche McVay, Lena Byers; and brother, Elmer Buchanan.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m., Sunday, March 29, 2009, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St. and from 10-11 a.m., Monday, March 30 at St. Timothy Lutheran Church. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 1262 Ashland Road, Mansfield. Burial will follow in Windsor Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Timothy Lutheran Church.
