Samuel Tridico Obituary

MANSFIELD: Samuel "Sammy" James Tridico, 4, is now playing rambunctiously with God after a two month, hard-fought battle with Aplastic Anemia. He struggled in ICU for two days before losing the battle and we told him good-bye. He was surrounded by love the entire time and left us early Tuesday morning, December 28, 2010 at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus. He received wonderful, caring attention from everyone he befriended during his stay.

Sam was born on Good Friday, April 14, 2006, a "miracle baby" to his parents, Michael Todd and Judy (Bubash) Tridico.

Sam had a zest for life that was contagious and to know him was to love him. Everyone who came in contact with Sam felt the happiness that radiated from him, and he brought joy to anyone on the receiving end of his sparkling blue eyes and sheepish grin. He loved to shadow his Dad, especially when it involved heavy machinery, danger and mud. If he wasn't busy hauling for Dad, he was busy hauling toilet paper rolls, groceries, even folded laundry, for Mom with his dump truck. Sam loved being outdoors and had a passion for building, often with things recovered from a bear-hunting, deer-trapping adventure with Sophie and Michael.

His giving and caring spirit will live on in the many people he touched during his short life. It's definitely not just our loss, but the world's. He was one of a kind. God got a good one, and we're so blessed that Sam was part of our lives. Angel Sam will continue to be with us. Look out heaven, here comes "our sun".

In addition to his parents; he is survived by his siblings, Michael and Sophie Tridico; grandparents, Michael and Diana Tridico and Jim and Pat Bubash; great-grandparents, Richard and Marcile Rita; uncle, Jim and Kathy Bubash; and aunt, Jayce and Bill Jones.

He was preceded in death by his uncle, Ricky Tridico.

Friends may visit and share their wonderful memories of Sam on Sunday, January 2, 2011, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Peter's Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.

Contributions in memory of Sam may be made to the St. Peter's Catholic Church/Sam Tridico Memorial Fund, 104 W. First St., Mansfield, Ohio 44902.

We will always remember Sam's beautiful blue eyes and heart warming smile!
We are so glad we got to know Sam more closely during our vacation to Lake Anna this summer. We have reflected fondly on some great memories with close friends, and are thankful Sam reminds us of a fun loving little boy and a wonderful friendship.
My guess is Sam is watching down from heaven - hauling around a little yellow dump truck full of goodies.
We are so sorry Sam left this world to soon for all of us. We have cried daily thinking of Sam and all of you - wishing there was some way to ease the pain.
May you find comfort in God, your family and friends. You all mean so much to us, and we are deeply sorry for the loss of Sam.

God is holding your precious one in his arms making him complete and so very happy. Sammy was here for a short time but you learned so much from having him in your lives. You will see him again and the celebration will be nothing like you have ever experienced before. For now you have amazing memories of your precious angel. He is in Gods care watching over you for now. God is with you now and always. I pray that as time goes on it will be easier to look at all the wonderful memories through happy hearts.
