Ann Larkins Obituary

Ann Goepp Larkins Loving wife of Allan Larkins, passed away peacefully at her home on July 20th, 2007 surrounded by family. Born in San Francisco on July 22nd, 1924, to Arthur and Gertrude Goepp, Ann attended St. Rose Academy and in 1935 moved to San Anselmo, where she graduated from St. Anselm's High School in 1938, and went on to pursue a career in banking. With two of her brothers serving in WWII, Ann was an active volunteer during the war at Hamilton AFB, making sandwiches for troops through USO. When her brother was killed in action, his best friend, Allan (Pete) Larkins came to pay his respects. Pete was a naval officer and captain of an LST at the time. Pete had introduced his sister to an officer serving on his ship, and at their wedding reception, Pete proposed to Ann. They were married in April, 1946, and have shared the most beautiful sixty-one years imaginable. They were partners in life and in business until their retirement from their construction company in 1982. Ann was an excellent tennis player, an ambitious golfer, a marvelous cook, and a competitive, fun-loving opponent at dominoes and card games. An avid boater for nearly fifty years, she and Pete enjoyed many wonderful years of friendship, sailing, and cruising at Marin Yacht Club. She was an incredible wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Ann was predeceased by her four beloved brothers: Arthur, Warren, Walter and Peter Goepp. She is survived by her loving husband Pete; daughter Ann (Richard) Laurence; son Allan Larkins III; grandchildren George (Annie) Morf; Lori (Kirk) Wagerman, Justin Larkins, Jared Larkins, Lisbeth (Reza) Wiriaatmadja, Jordan Larkins, Joe Larkins, Zack Larkins, Michele (Paul) Quijada, John (Star) Laurence; and great-grandchildren Holden, Julia and Phoebe Morf, Lucas and Mathew Wagerman, and Eden and Ava Laurence. A Mass in her memory will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 7th at St. Anselm's Church in San Anselmo at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Hospice by the Bay (17 E. Sir Francis Drake Blvd., in Larkspur, CA 94939).
