It´s been three years since her passing. I called her Grandma Zucchi since my graduation from San Mateo High School, where I had her as a teacher of English. My biggest memory is our phone conversation prior to her passing. Continue to Rest in Peace Grandma Anne Zucchi!

Mrs. Zucchi was a GREAT teacher, and how lucky we were to be assigned to her class! I sat, alphabetically, in the last row and I recall how she would zip up and down the rows, back and forth at the front of the class, engaging the most reticent of us Sophomores. While I disliked most of the literature she was required to teach (The Scarlet Letter stands out), she illuminated their symbolism and encouraged our opinions. Always kind and respectful, Mrs. Zucchi made high school fun and intellectually stimulating. As a retired teacher myself, I regret losing touch with someone who clearly LOVED teaching and inspired me to walk in her shoes. Fondly, Lori Thoreson--Class of 1971

I had Mrs Zucchi as my English teacher in my Junior year at San Mateo High School. I connected with her and we stayed in contact over the last 45 years. Through letters and Christmas cards. Every Christmas at letter was exchange about the adventures, travels, and especially family. She wrote and told me about her illness and was worried about her out come of her treatments. There was some encouraging news, but the treatment became worst than the disease. I called her mid May and she told me that she had enter Hospice. I sent her a card of encouragement with no reply. Seeing this obituary my concerns have been answered.
My concern Condolences to Johanna and Jim and the Grandkids. She will be sincerely missed. I will miss out yearly Christmas letters. Rest in Heavenly Peace Grandma Nana Zucchi
