Dear Hitchcock Family,
Getting to know Brandy not only as a patient, but as a person; has touched every person that works on 11 Long. She is one of those people whose energy touches your heart. It is rare to see the courage, strength, and constant positive attitude in a person enduring the fight she was fighting. I am fortunate to have cared for such an amazing woman. I am so sorry for your loss. She is going to be missed dearly. My thoughts and prayers to all those who loved her.

A note to Holden, Brandy's first and only child: You were born to a beautiful, loving mother and adoring father. You were cradled and cared for by her for as long as she possibly could. Now that she is gone, you are still deeply loved and cared for by your father, two doting grandmothers, and an extended family who would do anything for you. Jeff, your dad, will always be there for you and you will hopefully grow up surrounded by the love and protection from both the Latta and Hitchcock families.

Brandy was my daughter-in-law, the daughter I never had but hoped to know all my life.She was everything I could have hoped for as a daughter - kind, loving, considerate and she loved my son and he loved her. She left us with a wonderful baby boy and we will, as a family, try to let him know what a loving and kind mother he had. Brandy, we will always love and miss you. You were a credit to your family and to ours.

I am so sorry to hear about Brandy's passing. Although my girls and I have only known the 3 of you for a couple of years, we will never forget Brandy's sweet smile and pleasant personality. To Brandy's Dear family:
As a fellow mom, I cannot imagine the loss of a child. This does not seem fair, but we have to trust that God has a plan. That's all I can think of to rationalize this tremendous loss. Please know that the friends from the San Rafael Mom's Club are here to help your family and your precious new baby in Brandy's absence. As sisters in motherhood, it would be an honor and a privelege to help Brandy in any way we can. You are in our prayers.

Caring for Brandy on 11 Long was a distinct privilege for our nursing staff. While she exhibited herculean strength & resolve on a daily basis, she also broke our hearts with the love she shared for her family, and especially for Holden. She was one of us, but more courageous than we could ever dream of being. It's an honor to have known her.
