Surviving family include Mother Berit, Father John, Brothers Stephan, Christian and Brian.Daniel attended Redwood High School, San Diego Junior College and Cal Poly University, San Luis Obispo, for landscape Architecture. He was widely respected by a large community of friends for his readiness to commit himself to help wherever he saw need. He was intelligent, charismatic and a pleasure to be with. In his last decade, Daniel suffered from illness that restrained his potential but did not diminish his practice of helping anyone struggling with difficulties.A memorial service will be held at Seminary Chapel and Reception Hall, 109 Seminary Rd, San Anselmo on Sunday, Apr 23, 3- 5 p.m.

Dan! LOCS! My OG. I´m so sorry to hear about your passing. I looked up to you growing up more than you will ever know. I have fond memories. I remember a lot. You and Stefan looked out for me at my worst. I wish I could have been there to help you. I want to see your brothers asap. Till we meet again. You will be missed big bro.

I'm so sad to hear this. Dan and I were good friends since 4th grade, though I haven't seen him in 15 years. We grew up down the street from one another. I was just thinking about him the other day while teaching my daughter to ski and riding through a halfpipe. One of my first few times snowboarding was with Dan, and he could do this cool 180 trick off the wall and I still think about it every time I'm on a board in the halfpipe. One of the crazier memories was when I accidentally set off 500 caps in my pocket playing with nunchucks (because, obviously that was a good idea). I literally hopped around the whole pool with smoke erupting from my pocket, not knowing what was going on, before Steph yelled "Hose him down!" and blasted me. I think one of my favorite days with Dan was cruising around the neighborhood on a rainy day, knocking on doors asking neighbors to sponsor us for the spell-a-thon, Dan on a board and me on rollerblades. For one birthday, his family gave me a black duffle back with my name embroidered on it, just like all the boys had. Amazingly, I still had the bag when I took my first job after grad school at 29, and I used it for the constant Mon-Thursday travel. Dan and I got to reconnect in our 20s, and we even had an awesome sunny day at the Inkwells that I remember well. Much love to the family - I'm so so sorry for your loss. He will be missed by us all tremendously.

Nothing but fond memories of Dan growing up on McAllister. He always had a smile on his face. Great memories from Bacich and Kent and crossing paths in high school. We lost a great guy too young.

It´s with a heavy heart I write this today. I have known and loved this family for years. steph ( I just talked to you two weeks ago when you were looking for him) I loved Daniel! He was my boyfriend and best friend for so long. It´s hard to believe he´s gone. He was such a resilient man with a gregarious personality, he could talk to anyone about anything. Daniel will always be in my heart this is a terrible loss. My prayers and heart go out to Brian,Christian, Stephan,Berit, and John.

Another loss of a friend is really sad and serves as a reminder if how we need to show love and effort in making each day count with those we love and care for; we never know when it could be the last.
You were such an amazing person. Although our friendship was only for a short period of time in my life, you made an impact that was unforgettable and enlightening. You had such a calm and caring way about you, wisdom of an old soul, and such a great sense of humor. I know you were loved by many and will be missed tremendously.
