Gordon Beesley Obituary

Gordon H. Beesley
Passed away on November 17, 2003 at the age of 94 at home in Rohnert Park. Born in 1909 in Goldfield, Nevada, he gravitated through the mining town of Plymouth, California, to San Francisco at the age of ten.
After being educated in San Francisco he spent 43 years in the Marine Insurance business and achieved the position of President of the Association of Marine Underwriters as well as the Board of Marine Underwriters.
Gordon lived in Marin County for 60 years where he enjoyed the sports of fishing, sailing and golf. Many happy hours were spent with his family at their cabin in Pinecrest, CA. After retirement, he joined the Sirs and became the President of the State Board. He also served as the business manager for the First Presbyterian Church of San Anselmo.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Dorothy, former manager of the Art and Garden Center of Ross; daughter, Janet Gelatti of Petaluma; son Robert and daughter-in-law Linda Beesley of Edmond, OK; grandchildren Katherine Harriott, Jodi Boyle, Doug Gelatti and spouses Phil Boyle and Cathy Gosling; and five great grandchildren.
Private family services will be held.
