Joseph Schumacher Age 91 Joseph "Joe" Schumacher, 91, of Tiburon, California passed away, Monday, December 19th, 2016 at Alma Via of San Rafael - Bridgehaven Memory Unit with family at bedside. A memorial mass will be held 10:30am on January 17th at The Cathedral of the Holy Spirit 519 Raymond St., Bismarck, ND. An honor ceremony will follow at 12:00 noon North Dakota Veteran's Cemetery, Mandan, ND. Joe was born December 26th, 1924 in Dunn Co, ND to Anton and Anna (Funk) Schumacher. Following high school, Joe served in the army during WWII in the Pacific Theater. After the war, he moved to California and married Lucille (Steffan) Schumacher. He later remarried June Lepp who is now deceased. Joe is survived by the children of his first marriage: Bonnie (Lovci), Terry and Mark Schumacher. Never one to sit still, Joe worked hard throughout his life. Following technical school and positions in aircraft electronics, he settled on a career in jewelry - hand engraving in San Diego, CA. Joe took great pride in his craftsmanship and was widely recognized for his expertise. He enjoyed cars, the outdoors and the challenge to fix anything.
