Mario Gianetti Obituary

Mario "Lou" Gianetti Mario "Lou" Gianetti, 91, of San Rafael, CA passed away on December 1, 2021 surrounded by family. Lou was a native of Marin and born to parents Mario Senior and Julia Millard on January 7, 1930 in Ross, California. Lou graduated from San Rafael High School and received an AA degree from College of Marin. He served in the Army from 1950-1952 in Korea and married his high school sweetheart Judy DePugh in 1953; they were married for 60 years. Lou is survived by his daughter Lesley and son Brad Gianetti and his forever daughter-in-law Paula Wujeck. He was a real estate appraiser for several financial institutions over 35 years. Lou was an avid British sports car fan and racing enthusiast. He was a classical music aficionado, especially classical guitar. He thrived at the Sunday dances at the Goldenairs and delighted in San Rafael Bocce League at Albert Field. He enjoyed live theater and supported the Ross Valley Players, and Lou regularly attended Sunday Service at the Golden Gate Center for Spiritual Living, where he felt great inspiration. He went as quietly as he lived, no fuss, no trouble. A gentle man who meant no one harm and now he belongs to the ages. A Celebration of Life will be held at San Rafael Joe's Restaurant on January 8, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.

I'm so saddened to hear about Lou's passing and I'm so sorry I missed the memorial. Please know I'm thinking of you all and sending my love.
My mom and dad adored Lou and Judy and cherished the friendship with them throughout theirs lives. The many years of parties, musicales, trips to Tahoe, dinners out, visit at each other's homes.... the list goes on. Mom went to grammar school with Judy and was in the picture when Lou met her. Dad caught up with them in his sophomore year at SRHS.
I'm rambling... sorry. I set out to find you Leslie and ran into this terribly sad news.
Leslie, please call me because I can't find you or Diane. 925-683-1042
Blessings to the whole family! Joanne

Lou and Judy were our neighbors from 1970. Judy was always so effervescent while Lou was always such a gentleman - gentle man - a real sweetheart. Shared many wonderful times with him & Judy, often at the Italian Club gatherings, or neighborhood potlucks, over many years and the neighborhood will never be the same without Lou's bright smile and twinkling eyes. He will be sorely missed when we take our walks and he isn't on the corner to say hello. Our deepest sympathies to Leslie, Brad and entire family. May happy memories help to ease your grief.

My husband John and I will miss Mr. Gianetti very much. We enjoyed his company when taking day trips with our Senior Group the Goldenaires.
I also am on our Goldenaires Dance Committee and Lou, who I called Dad,
enjoyed the monthly Dances immensely. He was a very good Dancer! I also had the pleasure of sitting with Dad at church. I will miss him.
He was a wonderful person, and we were very blessed to have him in our lives.
