Michael John Fahy

1980 - 2021

Michael John Fahy Michael John Fahy passed away on July 5, 2021. Michael was born in Greenbrae, CA on August 21, 1980. He lived his younger years in Fairfax before moving to Sleepy Hollow at seven years of age. An outstanding and dedicated swimmer, Michael grew up swimming for the Sleepy Hollow Sea Lions and later swam for Marin Pirates, Drake High School (All-American in 100 Backstroke), and UC Davis, where he was a three-time All-American. You can still find Michael's backstroke records in the top ten up at the Sleepy Hollow Pool. Michael also played water polo at Drake and was twice selected to 1st Team All-NCS. Michael graduated from UC Davis in 2004 with a BA in Economics and a minor in English. Michael continued his love of swimming by coaching the Sleepy Hollow Swim Team in 2001-2006, Marin Junior Pirates and later volunteered as a coach of the Drake High School Girls Swim Team. After college, he pursued a career in finance, where he flourished at JP Morgan for 16 years in both their Los Angeles and San Francisco offices. An avid outdoor enthusiast, Michael loved kayaking, biking, and swimming. When he wasn't experiencing the great outdoors, Michael was cheering on his three favorite sports teams, the Golden State Warriors, San Francisco Giants and the San Francisco 49ers. Even when he lived in L.A., his loyalty never waivered for his favorite local teams. Michael loved his family. He was a loving dad, son, brother, nephew, uncle, and cousin. He was an inspiration to his siblings and community and his generous spirit was unmatched. He is survived by his three children: Kathryn Taylor, John Hayden, and Harrison James; his parents, Joe and Tina Fahy; siblings: Joey Jr., Katie (Mike), Kristina, David (Briana) and Daniel; and his nieces and nephews: Michael, Charlie, Aimee, Emma, Jane, Mark, Phoebe and Dominic. Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents, Kathy and Rob Bogenrief and Mary and Jack Fahy. Michael, you are forever in our hearts.
