Michael Ryan Murphy

Michael Ryan Murphy Age 17, passed away suddenly, and much too soon on January 26, 2014. He is deeply missed, by many more than he would have imagined, and will forever be remembered for his sense of humor, wit and his authentic independent nature. Michael was born March 14, 1996, in Mountain View, California. He was a senior at San Rafael High School. Growing up Michael was involved in soccer, basketball and lacrosse - and a sprained ankle never got in the way of his passion for skateboarding. He particularly enjoyed his sophomore year when he had the opportunity to live in the Colorado mountains and experience mountain climbing, skiing and also a month long visit to Chile with his classmates. He is survived by his mother and step father - Robin and Dave Anderson, his father - Brad Murphy, his brother (and best friend) - James, and his girlfriend - Diandra "Dondra" Berringer. Additional loving family include his grandfather - John Skarsten, grandma - Irma Murphy, grandparents Bob and Helen Murphy, numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, and many other good friends who will always be considered family. A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 1st, at St. Johns Episcopal Church - 14 Lagunitas Avenue, Ross, CA. The family appreciates the outpouring of support we have received by the community. In memory of Michael, give big hugs to those you love.
