Roger Gordon Graniss

1933 - 2015

Roger Gordon Graniss Sr. Passed away in his Novato home on Thursday, October 15 at the age of 82. Roger is predeceased by his wife Naomi Graniss. Roger is survived by his long-time companion Brenda Burnett. Roger is lovingly remembered by his children, Lynn and Frank Pugliese of SC, Roger Graniss of AK, Robert and Stacy Graniss of Santa Rosa, and David and Jolene Graniss of Novato. Naomi's children David, Glen, Brian and Michelle Wayne and Lisa Dunbar. Grandchildren Adam, Emily, Rosie, Justin, Gregory, Morgan, Taylor, Hunter, Shiloh Noel, Jeremy Joel, Allison, Brendan, Jarrett, Chad and Chase. Roger was born in San Francisco, Ca. in 1933. While attending Balboa High School, Roger worked as a bread maker at Langendorf Bakery. After high school he joined the Marine Corps. and served in the Korean War. With his military service completed, he enrolled at John O'Connell Tech School and became a journeyman plumber for Local 38 in San Francisco. He spent the majority of his career working in S.F. Japan town. After his retirement in 1991, Roger enjoyed gardening (roses), woodworking, cheering on his Giants and 49ers and watching his grandchildren play sports. Roger loved the community of Novato and spent numerous hours volunteering for Novato Youth Organizations. A Memorial Service will be held at Valley Memorial Park 650 Bugeia Lane Novato CA, on Weds., November 4th at 1:00pm followed by a celebration @ The Key Room, 1385 N.
