Shirley Turner Obituary

Shirley Ann Turner On July 6th, 2006, after a quiet life of giving back more than she ever took, Shirley Ann Turner peacefully passed over the threshold to heaven. With her devoted brother, Richard, continually by her side, Shirley courageously lost her battle with lung cancer after overcoming breast cancer ten years prior. Shirley was born in San Mateo to loving parents Jesse and Mary. After a successful banking career, Shirley worked for the Catholic Church in San Francisco and Marin. She found great joy raising her three Schnauzers, Gremlin, Ashes, and Vixen, who were exceptional show dogs and wonderful companions. Travels led her to many places, but Maui's Napili Bay was Shirley's most favorite place on earth. Her love and beautiful smile will truly be missed by her family and friends, especially her brother Richard, for whom she was a guardian angel, her nieces Shellie and Jamie, her nephew Todd and her best friend, Anne Daly. The beauty in her life was the way in which this classy woman found loving ways to quietly be the strength that helped so many. A Memorial Mass, open to family and friends, will be held on Saturday, August 26th, 11:00 a.m., St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Larkspur. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Marin Hospice.
