Stephen Granat Obituary

Stephen Granat Sept. 22, 1940 - May 15, 2015 Stephen passed away on May 15 at his home in San Rafael. Born in Washington, DC, on Sept. 22, 1940, Stephen made his way to California, which was home for the last 35 years. He was a self-made entrepreneur with many successful businesses, including Marin Screen Printing & Embroidery in Corte Madera and The House of Bagels in San Rafael. Most recently he worked in sales for The Bay Alarm Co. Stephen met his wife, Diane on a blind date in 1988 and it was love at first sight. They were blessed with their beautiful daughter, Alexandra, in 1990. Stephen was grateful for the countless blessings in his life including the many good people he was fortunate enough to cross paths with. He will be missed.

I'd only heard a few weeks ago that Stephen was ill. I had no idea and am so sorry I missed seeing him and being with you. I sing with Threshold Choir and was hoping we could sing by his bedside. I am sending you so much love, blessings and my deepest sympathies, Diane & Ali.

ah, Stephen, I can hear your voice, unique to you, easy to laugh, curious and interested and keenly observant of the people crossing your path.
Thank you for coming into Diane's life, in the nick of time; and giving her Allie.. They will be a great comfort to each other.
I hope to see you again in the stars, dear man.

My thoughts are with Diane and Allie during this time. I worked for Steve for 7 years, there were ups and downs together but I always knew that he had a passion in whatever he did. RIP.

Stephen is now watching over us all from above. I will miss the twinkle in his eye, his wry humor and the depth of devotion to his girls, wife Diane, and daughter, Allie, among many other admirable traits. Bill and I send oodles of love to all who adore and miss Stephen.
