I remember her coaching my daughter with AYSO soccer. Her spirit, patience and energy left a positive imprint on every kid she touched. She will be missed.

Rob Irwin and I had the privilege of working with and getting to know Valerie better when she worked on our program to encourage farmers to incorporate conservation practices on their lands. She was a delight to know & work with. I valued her intelligence & kindness. And she was lovely to be around. All of us of the Sacramento River Forum are stunned and saddened by her passing. We offer our deep condolences to her family. I will remember her always with great fondness and appreciation.

I knew Valerie as the amazing daughter of my wonderful friend Tracy. Valerie was a star and loved by many. She is gone too soon. I am so sad and my heart and thoughts are with her entire family.

Very saddened to hear of Valerie's passing. She possessed a fine spirit; her presence in my classroom and around campus in her high school years was always delightful. She loved people, enjoyed laughter and appreciated God's creation. So sorry for her family and loved ones who will miss her so. I will always remember her fondly, a blithe spirit.

I'm very sad to learn of Valerie's passing. Way too soon. I had the pleasure of being one of Valerie's teachers at Marin Catholic. She was a superb student--passionate, curious, talented, witty...I'll remember her with affection and pride in the good work we did together. Rest in peace, Scholar of mine...
