Velma Rose Bottarini

Velma Rose Bottarini Velma passed away peacefully on November 19, 2015 with members of her family by her side. Velma was born on January 21, 1925 in Oakland California, the only child of Francis and Rose Townsend. She attended local public schools and graduated from Oakland Polytechnic. Velma married Richard Bottarini on September 10, 1949. They remained married for over 65 loving years until Richards's death in January 2015. In 1987, Velma and Richard retired and began traveling. Velma loved bowling, bocce, cooking, and gardening. Until her death, she would meet regularly with her bowling partners for lunch. Velma loved to travel the world with, first, her mother and later Richard and the family. Trips to Hawaii and Italy with their children and their family's were especially cherished. Velma is survived by Richard T. Bottarini (Janet Bottarini) of Healdsburg, daughter Bonnie Rose Bottarini (Robert Kaufman) of San Anselmo, sister-in-law Gladys Franzini (Henry) of San Rafael, grandson Nicholas Bottarini (Kelly), great grandson Nolan of Walnut Creek and granddaughter Amelia Kaufman of New York, nephews Michael Franzini (Kim) of Cotati, and Donald Franzini of Santa Rosa. No services are planned, however, the family plans a celebration of life in January to remember Velma.
