It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of James "Jim" Bernard Clark Jr, 80, on May 20, 2024, in Ocala, FL. He was born on December 31, 1943 in the Bronx, New York City, New York; son and only child of James Sr. and Alina (Tumos) Clark.
He grew up in Bergenfield, New Jersey where he graduated from Bergen Catholic High School in 1961.
Jim was united in marriage to Patricia (Moles) Clark on April 25, 1965, surpassing 59 years as husband and wife.
Jim used his passion for sports to first work as a reporter and ultimately pursue a lifelong career in the newspaper business, culminating as a newspaper editor until his retirement in 2018. His free time also consisted of sports activities for his local community in the form of officiating and coaching basketball and baseball for over 30 years in both Ohio and Florida.
Additionally, he volunteered his piano skills to play the organ for his local church throughout much of his life. He loved nothing more than spending time with family and perhaps watching the New York Mets play baseball.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Patricia (Moles) Clark; daughter, Deborah (Dwayne) Foreman; sons Joseph Clark, Stephen (Kelly) Clark and William Clark; 12 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial Mass was held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, June 13, at Our Lady of the Springs Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to your local youth sports program.

Jim was a kind, competent and rigorous newspaperman during the years when I knew him as editor of the Citizen. I am most grateful for the publicity he gave to the nonpartisan Friday Forum of Marion County. Blessings to his family.
