Francis Robinson Obituary

Francis "Frank" Robinson, 70 of Richwood, died a peaceful Holy Death at home, surrounded by his family, on August 20, 2025 after a short battle with stomach cancer. He was devoted to his wife of 50 years, Lucy "Diane" (Scharf) Robinson, and was the proud father of daughters and sons-in-law: Toni and Nathan Brake of Milford Center, Ellie and Chris Roseburrough of Marysville, and Tricia and Tom Lauducci of Worthington. Frank was also a beloved Irish Granda to 8 grandchildren: Travis, Taylor, and Olivia Brake; Aloysius, Samantha, and Griffey Roseburrough; and Nico and Mara Lauducci. Frank was born in Topeka, Kansas, on June 2, 1955 to a military family. He spent his childhood around the world but called Portsmouth, Ohio home for many years before moving to Marion and graduating from Marion Catholic HS. When he and Diane started a family, they set down roots in Richwood. He was proud of the life they built close to their large extended family and alongside wonderful neighbors, friends, and co-workers. Even after 28 years at Honda, Frank didn't slow down in retirement. You'd find him fishing at the lake, working on a project, teaching someone how to fix something (he'd bring the parts), or building something fun for the grandkids. If you met Frank and didn't hear about "his girls" or his travels on 2 and 4 wheels with Diane or how proud he was of his grandchildren, then you're the exception. He never met a stranger and was always quick with an offer to help. His children remember him for his intentional nature and for teaching them to love fiercely, fight for the underdog, and "leave it better than you found it." He knew how to make people feel important and he relished telling a good story to anyone willing to sit for a spell. Frank is survived by his brothers, Tim and Bruce; in-laws, Brenda and Mary Robinson, Mike, Tom, Pat, Gail, Steve, Chris, and Jane Scharf, Jo and Dave Miller, Carol and John Thiel, Paula Price; and innumerable nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by a premature infant; parents Winifred McNamara and Charles Robinson; siblings Leslie, Fran, Chuck, and Mark; and extended family members Mary, Carl, John, Keri, Matthew John, Joseph Killian, Rick, Shasta, Kelly, and Jesse. Friends may call Sunday, August 24, 2025 from 2 to 5 pm at Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood, where a rosary service will be held at 5 pm. Funeral mass will take place on Monday, August 25 at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Marysville, followed by luncheon in the fellowship hall and burial at St. Mary's Cemetery in Kenton at 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Marysville or Apostolate for Family Consecration (AFC) in Bloomingdale, Ohio. Frank definitely left this world better than he found it, and he will be dearly missed. ()
