Warren Levings Obituary

Warren Lee Levings, 86 of Prospect died Wednesday evening, September 3, 2025 at home. He was born February 8, 1939 in Cardington to the late Cecil Vane and Lula Mae (Lindstedt) Levings. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald and Keith Levings; two sisters, Phyllis Baer and Betty Nelson; and a granddaughter, Kayla. On May 29, 1958 he married the former Shirley Ann Webb, with whom he shared 67 years of love, laughter and adventure. Together, they enjoyed motorcycle rides, trips to Branson for dinner shows, evenings at the park listening to music, and leisurely drives-cherishing every moment spent side by side. Warren was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose greatest joy came from spending time with his family. Whether visiting loved ones or lending a helping hand with repairs, Warren's presence was a source of comfort and strength. A founding member of the Richwood Gun and Game Club, Warren found camaraderie and enjoyment in the club's many activities, including fish fries, trap shooting, frog leg suppers, and card games. His involvement reflected his appreciation for community and tradition. Warren was a man of remarkable skill and craftsmanship. He had an exceptional ability to repair and restore anything-whether electrical, mechanical, or furniture-related. In 2002, he undertook the complete restoration of a historic popcorn wagon for the City of Sandusky. His meticulous work brought the wagon back to life, and he and his family were honored guests at its unveiling. The pride his family felt in his accomplishment was a testament to the love and admiration they held for him. Warren's legacy is one of love, dedication, and talent. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and forever remembered by those who loved him. Warren also shared a special friendship with his neighbors of over 40 years, Calvin and Nola. Their bond was built on decades of laughter, support and shared experiences. He is survived by his wife, Shirley; two daughters, Cheryl (Randy) Jones, Dublin; Lisa (Clifford) Smith, Richwood; a son, Wesley (Ann) Levings, North Lewisburg; eight grandchildren, Chad, Jayme, Alisha, Tiffany, Lance, Hunter, Kari and Rebecca; five great-grandchildren, Taryn, Jasmine, Kylee, Cloey, Libby; and a sister-in-law, Mary Jane Levings. Funeral services will be Monday, September 8, 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Pastor Joseph Rhea officiating. Burial will follow in Raymond Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service, beginning at 11:00 AM.

Sorry for your loss Shirley. Warren and my Dad (Sam) worked together at Great Lakes Charcoal then later I worked with Warren at Wyandot popcorn and I joined the gun club. Warren was a true inspiration to me at work and at the Club. Great guy he will for ever be missed by me and my wife.
