Charles Orcena Obituary
MARION: Charles Edwin "Duke" Orcena age 64 of Marion, Ohio, passed away on Saturday February 22, 2014 at Heartland of Marion.
He was born May 24, 1949 in Marion to the late James and Beatrice (Leeper) Orcena. He was part of Community Faculty at Marion Technical College where he taught mathematics and computer science since 2002.
Duke is survived by two sisters and two brothers, Anita Davie of Marion, Ohio, Debra Hall of Ashville, Ohio, Frank (Susan) Orcena of Ostrander, Ohio, and James (Rhada) Orcena of Marion, Ohio; also surviving is a special nephew, Bryan (Lori) Orcena; God son, Benjamin Orcena son of nephew, Jason (Alycia) Orcena; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday February 26, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Epworth United Methodist Church. Officiating the service will be Rev. David Hoffman. Burial will take place at a later date. Friends may call at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Tuesday February 25, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to The Marion Foundation to the Charles E. Orcena Scholarship Fund.

I am posting this to let the whole world know we have lost a good man.
I will try to keep Charles' humor and generosity alive in MTC and my life. It won't fix the hole he left in my heart but it might help someone who needs a “Charles” moment. Feel free to share a “Charles” moment with someone you know who needs it.

Words cannot express my sympathy for the loss of Charles. His presence will be missed so much at MTC. There were not many days that I did not see him and talk to him. He brightened my day and made me laugh! To quote the last lines of the Irish blessing..my friend," until we meet again, May God hold you in the Palm of His hand."
My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Oh Charles,you will be remembered by so many.Your stories, your kindness, your smile,the compassion you had to teach, all these memories we will hold dear to us, and keep you alive in our hearts.It is truly a sad day for those who you leave behind.I feel honored to have known you, not only as a teacher, but as my friend.I pray that the Lord will give strength to your family, and give them the peace that passes all understanding that only He can give.May He wrap His arms around them and surround them with His love as they go through the times ahead feeling the void of such a great loss. I'm in shock. Charles was such a great person and an amazing instructor! He made math fun for me and was always there to help me through it. I'm definitely going to miss seeing him in the halls! Fly High Charles!
