Heidi Hecker Obituary
DELAWARE: Heidi Kay Hecker, 36, of Delaware passed away unexpectedly Thursday evening November 8, 2012 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Delaware. Even though the accident took her own life, she showed her love of family and putting others first, by protecting and covering up her precious daughter which ultimately saved her life.
Heidi was born December 8, 1975 in Marion, Ohio to Judd and Shirley (Ellis) Hecker.
Heidi graduated from Marion Elgin High School in 1994 where she was a cheerleader and a member of the Elgin Energizers show choir. She was the manager of Bath and Body Works in Lewis Center and was a very warm, beautiful, sweet, caring, loving person who had a beautiful, natural smile that lit up a room. She enjoyed photography, scrapbooking, and also having her own picture taken. She never met a stranger and she was a yearly volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House through her work and a participant in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Peyton Weaver; father, Judd Hecker of Green Camp; sisters, Tracey (Tim) Cornely of Marion; Carmen Hecker of Delaware; loving companion, Brad Weaver of Delaware; special nephew, Jordan Hecker and niece Kaliana McFarland. She was preceded in death by her mother Shirley on December 24, 2000.
The family will receive friends on Thursday November 15th from 1 - 4 and 6 - 9 pm at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 1510 W. William Street at Valleyside Drive, Delaware. Funeral services will be held on Friday November 16th at 11:00 am at the Epworth United Methodist Church, 249 E. Center Street, Marion, Ohio with Rev. David Hoffman officiating. Burial will follow in Green Camp Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be given to a fund being setup in Peyton's name. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
The family requests that guests bring a special memory or story about Heidi with them to place in a book to be presented to Peyton as she grows older as a keepsake.

I knew Heidi from shopping Bath and Body Works and she was always so friendly with a big beautiful smile. I remember when she told me she was expecting Peyton and said she was due in December I believe. Heidi said she had never had a Christmas off work. She loved her baby girl that is for sure. She will be sadly missed. I am just in shock after learning that it was Heidi in that terrible accident.

I was blessed to have known Heid in high school; as well as worked with her at BBW. Dear Carmen, Tracey, and Brad--Was so very sorry to hear about Heidi! Although I haven't seen her in many years, I do remember a beautiful young lady who was very sweet and caring enough to spend time visiting with an aunt she hardly knew. We did connect briefly on Facebook, but sadly lost touch. Brad, I don't know you at all, but my sympathies go out to you also, you have a big job ahead of you, raising your little daughter alone. I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of Heidi. I worked for her at B&BW. Although it's been 8 years since I worked there, she would still remember me when I would stop in and was so friendly. My Mother always loved shopping at the store too because I would talk about how nice Heidi was and she agreed just from a few interactions with her in the store. I'll always remember working Christmas Eve with her and she shared the story of her Mother's death with me. It breaks my heart that her daughter now knows that same pain.
Heidi's daughter and entire family are in my prayers.

Heidi was truly a one of a kind girl. Even before I got to know her, I had an interaction with her when I was checking out at B&BW. I remember how sweet and bubbly she was. I went on to work there during the holiday season and loved watching her run the store. She was always in a good mood and seemed to really enjoy her job. I then went out to dinner with her several times for a girls nigh out and got to really know her. Again, such a sweetheart! Always happy. She just told me a couple of weeks ago that she had already started playing Christmas music because she was so excited for Christmas this year because of Peyton. I will miss seeing her. This is a devastating loss to so many people.

I had the honor of knowing Heidi from Elgin and from Bath and Body Works here in Lewis Center. My own kids loved getting to see and speak with Heidi and she always welcomed them with smiles and love. I am extremely saddened by this horrible tragedy but am also honored, thankful, and blessed to have known Heidi. She was one of the most kind and loving women I have ever known. I will keep Heidi and her family in my heart and prayers.

Heidi became an acquaintance/friend as I loved to shop in the Bath and Body Works near Walmart on Rte #23 which she managed.
Heidi's smile always lit up the shop as soon as I walked in as she would greet me and then chat before shopping commenced.
She and I would speak of personal things from past and present. I watched her body grow as she carried Peyton , and she was so proud
of this beloved little
little girl...amazed as Mom's are at every new moment in their life. She took beautiful photographs which kept me posted on Peyton's growth and her photography business and all those she touched thru it. I already miss that friendly, sincere smile.
God bless you in heaven as you now rest in God's presence with your Mom. Taken too soon from those who loved you.

I am a 12 yr customer of Heidi's. she watched my 4 children grow. My girls were always very excited and eager to go with me to BBW to "see Heidi". My oldest was eager to get a job with her this yr when Heidi said she needed to be 18 and come next summer for a job and "she's got it!" Heidi is the most beautiful, sweetest soul i've ever met and touched every person who crossed her path with her bright, welcoming eyes and smile! . She will be missed beyond imagination!!! Heidi, I miss you already. It's hard to believe that we just spent a day together laughing about growing up while our daughters played and you snapped pictures. I am glad that you are with Aunt Shirley again, but sad that means you left us.
