Barbara, Howard, and Noel:
We are so sorry to have just learned of your loss. I always thought of Herman as a good friend and a terrific mentor all the years we worked together. It's funny, but every time I hear anyone whistle, I think of him. He could do a mean one. He is missed.

I will always think of Uncle Herman in a warm and loving way. I remember when I first moved here from Boston, he made me feel so welcome and he was so caring and interested in learning about me and my family and how I was adjusting to Az, what did I think of this, what did I think of that/etc. I remember driving home thinking what a wonderful man I had just met. He was that same way everytime I had the pleasure of seeing him....always concerned with others and interested in what was going on in our lives. He had such a joyful and giving spirit and whenever I think of him, I think of him smiling. He was a beautiful man and I know he will rest in peace as the good and faithful servant that he was.

Dear Barbara and Family, My thoughts and prayers are with each of you. Herman was a colleague in our work with students at the UA. He was very kind and supportive to students and his fellow colleagues. I consider myself blessed for having the opportunity to have worked with such a great role model.

Our condolences to Barbara and family. My Mom and I were shocked to see Herman's picture in the paper. Didn't we just see him in the choir on Palm Sunday? Saturday evening Mass will not be the same without him. May God fill you with his love and peace during this terribly sad time.
