Mark P. Schwartzkopf

KERRVILLE, TX: Mark P. Schwartzkopf, 63, died at 1:50 p.m. Monday, August 1, 2011. Born December 4, 1947, in Alton, he was the son of the late Kathleen (Fahrig) Schwartzkopf and Neal Schwartzkopf and his wife, Jane, of Alton.

He retired as the owner/operator of Schwartzkopf Catering and was a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church in Kerrville.

On October 10, 1992, in Denver, CO, he married the former Marie Cope, who survives. Also surviving are four children, Susan Schwartzkopf and her fiance, Tony Diamond, both of Maplewood, MO, Patrick Schwartzkopf and his wife, Liz, of Seattle, WA, Lisa Farrow of Kerrville and Todd Farrow and his wife, Joan, of Golden, CO; four grandchildren, Reece and Ella Farrow of Kerrville and Sage and Liam Farrow of Golden; one brother, Jim Schwartzkopf and his wife, Donna, of Dorsey; and three sisters, Chris Galligan and her husband, Mike, of Fosterburg, Terry Dressel and her husband, Mike, and Amy Ogburn and her husband, Rich, all of Alton, IL; and 13 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother; a brother, Tom Schwartzkopf; and a nephew, David Schroeder.

A rosary service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, August 5, followed by a visitation until time of Mass at 2 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton, IL. Father Shawn Monahan will officiate. Burial will be private in Kerrville.

Memorials may be made to the Notre Dame Catholic School, 907 Main St., Kerrville, TX 78028. Gent Funeral Home in Alton, IL is in charge of arrangements.
