MARION: Ruby E. Hedrick, age 76, of Marion, Ohio, passed away Saturday December 14, 2013 at Presidential Center Genesis Healthcare.

She was born August 27, 1937 in Raymond, Ohio to the late Russell and Viola (White) Holycross.

Ruby was married to Doug Hedrick and he preceded her in death in January of 2000. Ruby worked at Cosmo Plastics in Mt. Gilead, Ohio and also at Container Recovery Co., in Marion, where she retired after 18 years. She graduated from Martel High School in 1957. She played softball, was an avid bowler, was a scout and brownie leader and was also a volunteer fire fighter.

Ruby is survived by a daughter and two sons, Tracy (Don) Rigdon of Crestline, Ohio, Michael Martin of Marion, Ohio and Scott (Beth) Martin of Edison, Ohio; as well as five grandchildren, Zach (Julie), Alyssa, Summer (Kevin), Chad, Amber; and seven great-grandchildren. A brother, Richard (Sandy) Holycross; numerous nieces, nephews; and special friends, Debbie Bollock, Ralph Weaver, Ruby Cheek, Mary Waxler and all her friends from Freewill Baptist Church also survive.

Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers, Sylvia, Dorothy, Beulah, Helen, Marion, who was killed in action in WWII, and Sherman.

There will be no services for Ruby, but there will be calling hours for her on Friday December 20, 2013 from 5 to 8 P.M. at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home.
