MONICA LUBBERING Obituary

MONICA LUEBBERING Monica C. Luebbering, 89, of Marshall, MO, died Sunday, December 17, 2023, at The Living Center in Marshall. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Marshall. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in St. Thomas Cemetery where the family will greet friends from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Peter Catholic Church or St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home. An online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com Born March 7, 1934, in St. Thomas, MO, she was the daughter of the late Peter Libbert and Theresia Evers Libbert. Monica was a 1952 graduate of St. Peter High School in Jefferson City. On February 5, 1955, at St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church in St. Thomas, she married Richard H. Luebbering who preceded her in death on May 11, 2018. Monica and Richard lived in St. Thomas until 1972, when they moved to Marshall, and while in that area she worked as a receptionist for the Missouri State Highway Patrol and as a radiology transcriptionist for St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City. After moving to Marshall, Monica worked at Pioneer Seeds and cared for children in her home as well as at a daycare. Monica and Richard were longtime active members of St. Peter Catholic Church in Marshall where she sang in the choir, was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, was in the Ladies Knight Auxiliary and worked in R.C.I.A. Survivors include four children: Roger Dale Luebbering (Jo) of Columbia, Charles Lee Luebbering (Martha) of Tucson, AZ, Theresia Lynn Willis of Sturgeon and Shirley Ann Bosley (Junior) of Marshall; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Lucille Engelmeyer of Jefferson City; as well as nieces, nephews, and other extended family. Monica was preceded in death by her parents and husband; a son-in-law, Alan Willis; a grandson, Jason Michael Williams; two brothers, Andrew and Wilfrid Libbert; and two sisters, Christine Wekenborg and Marie Rodemann.
