WINIFRED SLEIGHT

WINIFRED SLEIGHT Sleight, Winifred "Wicky" (Graham), passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025 at the age of 82 in Marshall, MO. Born in Carrollton, Wicky was deeply involved in Missouri civic life. She earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in library science from the University of Missouri where she became a member of the Alpha Phi Sorority and later served on the St. Louis County University of Missouri Extension Council. Wicky was a board member of the Missouri Humanities Council from 2007-2010, a Rotary Club member for 23 years, past president of the Missouri Library Association and director of the Kirkwood Public Library for 15 years. One of Wicky's proudest accomplishments was establishing the public library in Marshall, MO - a gift that serves the community today. Wicky was preceded in death by her beloved husband of more than 50 years, Hadley. She is survived by her children, Mayme Sleight of Tomball, TX, Hadley (Jeff) Sims of Marshall, MO, Graham (Michelle) Sleight of Chicago, IL; six grandchildren, Kelsie (Ryan) Morris, Steven (Cierra) Sims, Kylie (Bailey) Sims, Katie (Corey) Sims, Stella and Charles Sleight and two great-grandchildren, Rhett and Macie Morris. She is also survived by her feline companion, "Sissy." A celebration of Wicky's life will be held on Saturday, September 6 with Visitation at 9:30 a.m. and Service at 11 a.m. at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Marshall, MO. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friends of Arrow Rock.
